Article ID: #RPOHD27416

Please note that PaperOffice assumes no responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of your setup or data backup and recovery on third-party software and hardware. Contact your hardware service provider or use our paid support if you need help.

PaperOffice always builds in SQL mode technically on a MySQL or MariaDB database server, which by default supports 150 concurrent connections. MySQL and MariaDB support up to 100,000 concurrent connections, depending on the version, hardware and platform, for a maximum PaperOffice user count of over 6,000. Each database connection requires resources and memory on the database server, which may be e.g. can be calculated here> Each user logged into PaperOffice dynamically uses up to a maximum of 15 simultaneous connections to this database server, which means that by default, at least 10 users can be logged in simultaneously. For example, each logged-in user needs about 60MB of memory, but this can vary as long as you change the default settings. As a rule of thumb, the more RAM, the better and faster. The following list can serve as a guideline for the least amount of storage: 1 user = ca.60MB RAM needed 10 users = ca.600MB RAM needed 25 users = ca.1.5GB RAM needed 50 users = approx. 3GB of RAM needed 100 users = approx. 6GB of RAM needed

Can PaperOffice store all the data on my NAS drive?

Article ID: #RPOHD13984

Of course you can save all databases directly to your NAS drive if your NAS has a MySQL server, e.g. Synology and you have the PaperOffice Team version. In addition, PaperOffice supports the use of a MariaDB 5 and Maria DB 10 database server, which can optionally be installed under Windows, Linux or MacOS.
We recommend using the databases on the NAS of QNAP or Synology.
Please note that Maria DB 10 should be explicitly set up using our setup videos on YouToube or HelpDesk entries. You can also purchase our extended support service, and our technical staff will set up the database for you.
