Learn how it all began
From small beginnings, from the idea to improve something, slowly but surely PaperOffice was born.
Bit by bit, our company developed along with our document management software.
We matured with our product and with you, because you as our users were and are at the same time advisors for what we improved and what we can do even better.
We, the former Schönland X-Media media agency, needed a DMS and the few solutions on the market were far too expensive, simply bad to use and not suitable for us as a startup.
PaperOffice 1.0 as freeware
Based on Visual Basic 6 and a Microsoft Access database, the very first PaperOffice is created and released as freeware to our customers.
And users love PaperOffice:
It combines all the features they need at an unprecedented price.
More and more hours of work are going into PaperOffice, which was originally developed as a proprietary solution only.
PaperOffice version 2 becomes the first commercial version and now takes up a full-time job.
Our business founder Daniel Schönland puts all his eggs in one basket: What started as a hobby now becomes the core business.
The regional and still in Harsewinkel based advertising and web agency "Schönland X-Media" changes to a software producer.
With 4 employees and a puppy:
Schoenland X-Media becomes Realify Systems limited.
PaperOffice is available for the first time with MySQL databases, becomes revision-safe, gets tons of new features and a completely redeveloped design adapted to Microsoft Office 2007.
The first international sale takes place and PaperOffice gets the first English language interface.
Computerbild magazine CD
PaperOffice owes its success to Computerbild and its outstanding work.
Computerbild believes in PaperOffice and presses the "PaperOffice CBE" for the first time on the magazine CD:
Together with an excellent workshop, readers get to know PaperOffice and are thrilled.
Due to the previous immense success, PaperOffice 2012 is immediately launched exclusively in cooperation with the German, Polish and Russian Computerbild.
PaperOffice is under attack
PaperOffice becomes the target of all vendors who proudly represent the German IT document mafia and are forced to adhere to the agreed pricing policy or "shut down".
Especially DMS vendors with less than 4 letters in the product name do not find the idea of the highly professional DMS system PaperOffice at an affordable price for everyone at all funny and see their million dollar maintenance contracts crumbling.
The small PaperOffice team, which now consists of 12 people, is bombarded almost daily with letters from lawyers, warnings and negative Internet sentiment for fictitious reasons.

PaperOffice owes its success once again to Computerbild and this time also in Eastern Europe by appearing in Computerbild Poland and Russia There is a new PaperOffice CBE version and an extensive 6-page workshop.
PaperOffice is now established among readers, reaching unprecedented user numbers.
Over 150,000 PaperOffice "Computerbild-Edition" licenses shipped, breaking all records.
PaperOffice Stealth is coming
The multilingual PaperOffice "Stealth" is in the starting blocks and will be delivered to selected users. The PaperOffice team has completed the ultimate system with the completely redeveloped PaperOffice, laying the foundation for all new versions to come.
The new PaperOffice is the world's first and only DMS software to offer unprecedented functionality. Among other things, this version not only has its own integrated cloud server, but also a complete fax and email solution.
PaperOffice is specifically future-proofed for D-A-CH and the European market by a decentralized staff and distributor network.
